SCARLET

Scarlet Knitwear is a colourful knitwear brand founded in 2018 by designer Laura Ukstina. Inspired by traditional knitwear and a love of bold, bright colour, the brand combines heritage patterns with modern geometric designs to create playful, expressive pieces with a contemporary feel.

Laura has worked in the Scottish textile industry for over 16 years, building extensive knowledge of yarn production, fibre sourcing, and knitwear manufacturing. This experience shapes every part of Scarlet Knitwear — from the careful choice of ethically produced materials to the thoughtful design of each pattern.

Ethics and sustainability are central to the brand. Scarlet Knitwear works exclusively with responsibly sourced natural fibres such as lambswool and cashmere, and partners only with trusted Scottish mills that share a commitment to quality, ethical production, and craftsmanship.

Each piece is either made in the Lochgelly studio using hand-powered vintage knitting machines or produced in small batches at specialist luxury knitwear mills across Scotland. Scarlet Knitwear creates knitwear that is full of colour, rooted in tradition, and designed to be worn, loved, and enjoyed for years to come.
